Solar Energy

Photovoltaic solar energy and solar thermal energy are two ways of harnessing the sun’s energy to generate electricity.

Photovoltaic solar energy is produced through the use of photovoltaic solar panels. These panels are composed of solar cells that convert sunlight directly into electricity. The electrical energy produced by the solar panels can be used directly in homes and businesses, or it can be stored in batteries for later use.

Solar thermal energy, on the other hand,

Is produced by using mirrors and solar collectors to concentrate sunlight onto a receiver. The receiver converts the thermal energy into electrical energy through a thermodynamic cycle. The thermal energy can also be stored in molten salts for later use.

Solar thermal energy is mainly used in large power generation facilities, as it requires a large amount of space and is more expensive to implement. However, solar thermal energy has the advantage of being able to generate electricity even in cloudy conditions or at night, thanks to the ability to store thermal energy.

In ASIGEN we are experts in solar energy, both in photovoltaic installations and solar thermal power plants.
